- Ellis grew up in Worcester and now lives in Forest Hill, London.
- He trained at Guildford School of Acting winning the Sir Anthony Hopkins Scholarship & Michael Redgrave Scholarship.
- As an actor he has performed in TV, film, in the West End, National Tours and Worldwide. He has worked with directors such as Trevor Nunn and Deborah Warner, been on stage with great actors like Ralph Fiennes, Simon Russell Beale and Dominic West and has even sung surrounded by larger than life Jim Henson puppet creations alongside Phillip Schofield.
- As a writer and director Ellis works regularly with Youth Music Theatre UK, creating new musicals with 11-25 year olds.
- He works regularly as an actor with West End In Schools.
- Drama teaching experience includes over 10 years for Stagecoach (4-18yrs) and freelance workshops at numerous drama school and colleges.
- Ellis co-founded and ran Malvern Youth Theatre.
- He is the author and creator of the Teacher Toolbox series of e-books, making drama games accessible for the classroom.
- His first children's novel Little Lord Paul of Heritage Hall is currently being developed with the Golden Egg Academy.
- He loves puppetry and object manipulation.
